Popsicle
Cold, colorful, and tasty,
Perfect on a sunny summers day.
Find me near the igloos,
Like Antarctica on a stick.

My paper covered outside is just to keep fresh,
Rip it off to see your selection.
Lick me up quick, for you will see,
Surely will I melt, like a hot, wax candle.

Me Without You
A day without sunshine,
Peanut butter without the jelly,
The moon without the stars,
An egg with no yolk,
Ben with no Jerry,
Rain without the rainbow,
Your hand without mine,
A day with no hugs,
A world with no love,
A puzzle missing the last piece,
A puppy with no home,
Music without the melody,
Me without you, May 11, 6am-11:59pm, everywhere.

The Comb In The Cup
As i sat there
and slowly brushed my hair,
I wondered if the comb
missed its lovely home.
I wondered if it cared
that it was completely bare.
It wore no clothes
Nor ribbons of soft silky bows.

I was just sitting there
when she picked me up and put me in her hair.
It grew very dark
and i started feeling static-y sparks.
She hummed a soft tune
of the flowers in bloom,
And i started to miss my home
in the cup with all of the other combs.

I Am Me
I Am,
The curious mind,
The whining baby,
The annoyance,
The never-ending sunshine to your day.

I Am,
The drama queen,
The door slammer,
The dish dropper,
The klutz.

I Am,
The yell,
The smile,
The lazy sleeper,

The morning grump.

Part 1: Big Mistake and Heartbreak
Ally loved Jake
But he never knew
How she felt
He really had no clue.

One day she thought
It's time to stop this
All of the hiding
And all of the sadness.

So she wrote him a note
A note that told all
All of her feelings for him
Since 9th grade last fall.

She said if he felt
The very same way
To meet her at the farm house
Near the barrels of hay.

She dropped it in his locker
Right near the water fountain
And then she took off
Carrying her books as big as a mountain.

She knew he probably
Did not like her
She bet he liked that cheerleader
The blond one named Piper.

Ally knew Jake thought she was weird
Because she liked school and was very very smart.
Besides, Ally thought
Sports jocks don't understand feelings from the heart.

While thinking about this
She failed to see the opening door
She ran right into it
Her books scattering all over the floor.

And before she could blush
There was Jake
Coming toward her
With a smile she figured was fake.

He said nice to meet you
My name is Jake
She didn't care what she was about to do
Would be a big mistake.

She leaned for his cheek
For a "thank you" kiss
But caught his lips
On a total miss.

She blushed furiously
She almost cried
What was she thinking
She just wanted to die.

But then he smiled
And took her hand
And then he said
Do you want to try that again?

She took back her hand, too embarrassed to talk
She picked up her books
As she turned to leave
Giving him one last look.

Jake couldn't believe it
He was so surprised
He went to his locker
Not knowing what was inside.

He thought she liked him
But he guessed he was wrong.
He pulled out a paper that said, "To Ally"
He worked so hard to write her a beautiful song...

He never saw the note
The one Ally had written
The one that explained
How she was so smitten

For it had fallen onto the floor
And stuck to a shoe
Full of gum
As sticky as super glue.

So the next day
When Jake didn't stop by
The farm house grew lonely
Ally wanted to cry.

And from that day on
They never spoke
Of the love that felt
That year at West High in New Oaks.

Part 2: Tears, Love, and Crab Meat
Ally was in the store
Buying some food
Except she was in
An exceptionally bad mood
.

And that's when she saw Jake
Coming dow
n the bread isle
He looked at her
And flashed a big smile

She lost her breath
Her heart started to race
She picked up her basket
And quickened her pace.

But in no time at all
He quickly caught up with her
At the seafood tank
Buying some flounder.

"Hey there Ally
Long time no see"
"Hey there Jake
Is there something you need"

"I was just wondering
How things were going
I haven't seen you
Since the last time it was snowing"

"Not that much really
Same old same old
Except my that my mom
Caught a terrible cold

But why care now Jake
You didn't care before"
She didn't know
The note had fallen on the floor

"What are you talking about
Of course I care
What are you trying to do
Give me a scare"

"You saw the note Jake
And you didn't come
Down by the hay barrels
On Old Laker's Farm"

"I never got a note Ally
I swear to god
What do I have to do
Beg and sob"

"Don't give me those lies Jake
You know that's not true
You left me alone
Feeling sad and blue"

"Ally i never ever
Would have meant
To make you sad
But i never got the note you sent

What I am about to say
Is one hundred percent true
There is just nothing else
Left for me to do

Please just listen to me
Allison Marie Drew
I would never hurt you in anyway
I love you."

Those three simple words
That's all it took
To make her break down
She was completely hooked

He gave her a smile
One warm and kind
That sent a chill
Up and down her spine

She was so happy
She was never this full of joy
Here she was in the grocery store
Falling in love with a boy

She shot back a smile
That was sweet and shy
She fell into him
And started to cry

But these,
These tears
Were of overwhelming ecstasy
Losing this feeling was her only fear

She was perfectly content right where she was
She did not want to let go
She'd been waiting for this for three years
The whole in her heart had been sewn

She looked up into his eyes
And he put his arms around her
He started to lean in close
But got interrupted but the guy at the fish counter

"Excuse me mam, I'm terribly sorry
We're all out of flounder
We won't get any
For another couple of hours

I could get you something else
Like lobster or pompano
Or maybe a salmon
I could get any of that of you want me to

But if you want
Something cool and neat
I've got about a pound
Of king crab meat"

But Ally couldn't hear
Anything about crab meat
All she could hear
Was the sound of her own heartbeat

And just like that
In the blink of an eye
They kissed for the first time
Ignoring the passer-bys

She liked that fact
that it seemed to last forever
She hoped that their love
Would end never.

My Voice
Hi, my name is Stephanie,
I am thirteen years old.
I'm a major klutz,
And I'm always catching a cold.

When I am bored,
I like to sing.
Or I'll turn on my music,
And start dancing.

I have two cats,
One brother, one mom.
Let's not forget Gizmo,
The dog who's never calm.

My life is hectic,
Always crazy.
I take time to relax,
And be a little lazy.

Sometimes I think,
Life might be more simple,
If I was a normal teenager,
Who's only problems were pimples.

But a simple life,
just is no fun.
So i enjoy my life,
Through the rain, wind, and sun.

First Kiss
He pulled her in close.
This was the moment she thought about the most.

She had seen it in all of the movies.
You know, the ones where all the music is "groovy".

Just that thought made her start laughing
.
So loud it would have woken up anyone napping.

But he didn't want to wait,
Until a later date.

So he took her in his arms by surprise,
And looked her straight in the eyes.

And then without a doubt,
He leaned in close, his lips puckered in a pout.

It happened so fast she could have sworn she missed,
Her very own first "real" kiss.

And then she thought,
You have got be kidding me, this is what all of the hype is about?

It had to be a hoax.
That's all it was, one little poke?

She was disappointed
, that was clear.
She just wished is hadn't made her shed a tear
.
